Margarittaville

Margarittaville RV Resort

Lake Lanier, Georgia

This was one of those “bucket list” places… A just gotta do and chill.

We had a love and hate relationship with this RV park. Turns out we arrived a few days before the summer opening, so nearly everything was still closed. The folks manning the services were pretty clueless, signage was wrong (specials did not exist) and overall a sense of “what do you want? You are early.”

That said – wow! The spot we had was one of the most enjoyable ever… view of the lake, sunsets and peace and quiet interrupted only by the cheers of the “Margaritta Lady” and her golfcart full of that wonderful concoction!

Our first night there was spent grilling out while sipping some seriously strong and tasty margarittas. Yea, we had good ole Jimmy playing over the speakers too.

The next day while researching boat rentals I got an email about a free boat ride. So, we switched gears and at 4pm headed over to the docs in our rental golf cart (expensive but needed!) We boarded one of two large boats and enjoyed some drinks from the bar (not vey good) as we did a 3 hour tour (or so) around the lake. Enjoyable and relaxing.

Afterwards we visited Landshark Bar & Grill only to find the specials were non existent to the point of “Huh? We don’t have any…” even though the signage at checkin was clear… but old. So we ordered up some other items and drinks and looked out at the water and the beach while listening to JB and his friends over some very large screens.

In the end, we would return. Off season for the beauty, in season for all the stuff we did not get to do.
