Where to begin?
As early as I can remember I loved going on road trips. It likely comes from my dad, cause he always liked to go for a ride – to the store, to the state park, to the ice cream place. I don’t recall any long road trips, and we never had an RV, so I don’t know where the drive to go comes from. But it has been there as long as I can remember. I recall one job I had some 30+ years ago. A girl I worked with told me I had “gypsy blood” – cause I was always trying to travel somewhere.
Last year we bought our first RV (a 2018 Thor 24FE) and fell in love. No hotels (except one really hot night), no restaurants unless we wanted. Lots of new faces, and tons of American beauty. So this year we moved up a notch to a 2018 Thor A.C.E. – smaller than a “Class A” and bigger than a “Class C”.
A short time ago I was pondering the next road trip when I had an epiphany. I love road trips, I love food, I love wine and I love the beauty of this country. That is my passion! So why not make a blog about following our passions?
“May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
—Irish Proverb
Perhaps it is the Irish in me. Who knows. But my wife says “let’s do it.” and the dogs say “where do I sit?” So off we go to see and document the beauty and the adventure while traveling in our RV.
For you Dad.
